First Day on Jenny Direct!

Today is the first day of following Jenny Direct (Jenny Craig's at home program). I am sort of excited and a little bit nervous. I am looking forward to the change but we all know that nobody really likes change.

I think that starting a new program will help me bring a fresh perspective to this weight-loss journey. I was stagnating and finding it so counter-productive to be stuck at the same weight-range for a whole year. It was getting me down and I need to move forward now.

When I signed up for Jenny Craig on September 8, 2009 I weighed in at 256.5 lbs. This morning I was at 250.4. That is exciting since I wasn't really following any program as I was recovering from a 24-hour stomach flu and I have been enjoying all types of foods since I know that I will be eating the Jenny Cuisine only for at least 5 months. Once I am half-way to goal (so around 210), I will switch to half Jenny Cuisine and half of my own cooking which will be nice.

Anyhow, that's jumping forward. Today I had my first consultation with Brittany. She sounds like a lovely young lady who is very positive. And I must admit I was positively jaded listening to her. I am going to keep a tight rein on any negative thinking. I think I am a little afraid to be too hopeful so that I'm not disappointed but I really need to see some success. Brittany's fresh view may be just what I need to break out of this holding pattern.

I feel like 250 lbs has been a real barrier for me and I am about to hurdle over it and run as far from it as possible. I have goals to meet and I am going to do just that! :)

I am following the 1700 calorie menu plan and there is a lot of food - Jenny's and fresh produce and dairy. I am going out today so will eat my lunch and pack my snacks to eat on the road. I need to figure out how to make this work when I'm not at home. I will get this!

Anyhow, I'm hoping for a great first day and a really positive first week. I will be posting here daily this week so that I can keep track of this experience.

Here's to a great first day of this fresh start!

You're so close to the 250 mark, I bet you can practically taste it! I am glad you have found a program that will give you a fresh start. Good luck!
