Well I did it! I got to my WI and faced it with confidence. I knew I was up but I was okay with that. I knew that my efforts over Christmas were not 100% so I couldn't expect better results. However, I did stay on track most of the time so I did okay. I was up 4.2 lbs to place me at 256.8. Okay so that is done and now it is onwards and downwards for me.
Immediately following weigh-in (no meeting today), I went and did a workout at the gym. Our meetings take place in a ladies gym in town and it is so convenient. DH gave me a punch pass for Christmas. When I told someone that, they thought I would be upset about that as if it were a criticism. Instead I see it as him supporting my goals. When he bought it, he knew that meant he would be watching the kids so I could go. And go I did, I went prepared to workout and it was so great. I feel so good now. It is a bit late but I'm still going to have a smoothie with whey protein as I need a snack after that big workout and I haven't had all my points today.
I am so excited about all that lies before me.
I have joined a few challenges:
January Simple Weight Loss Challenge (SWLC) - 8 lbs lost in January (under 250)
January Jumpstart Activity Challenge - 600 minutes (already have 125)
Winter Challenge - 26 lbs (10% of my current weight)
Springfling 2009 - 26 lbs (also 10% but with a different group)
New Years Challenge - 75 lbs by the year-end (in Onederland and staring down goal)
There are some great people involved in these challenges and I know the extra support and encouragement, accountability and connecting with others will really help me meet the goals I have set.
This is an exciting time in this journey. I have fallen but I am up and running again. I love that I can turn this all around and this time next year I will be in an entirely different place than right now. There is freedom in knowing that I am in control and I am able to change my situation.
So here's to a fantastic 2009 - a great year of meeting goals and improving my health and well-being. :)
