Huge NSV - from November 13

I posted this on the 200+ board on Tuesday, November 13, 2007!

Since I started WW, one of my goals has been to get rid of all medications or at least significantly decrease them. Today, my doctor has cut my blood-pressure medication way down.

I take 3 different medications (which includes a diuretic) for hypertension. I was taking 1000 mg of one medication at my heaviest (5-200 mg tablets per day). My doctor reduced it down to 3 per day at around 250 lbs plus another medication dosage was cut in half at that time.

Now my new doctor cut this one medication back to 2 per day over the last 2 weeks so that is 200 mg twice per day.

Until today when I went to see him with my list of BP readings for the last 2 weeks. He was so pleased and he cut it back to 100 mg once a day. So that is 1/2 a pill once a day and if the BP readings are still good, he wants me to cut that in half again so 50 mg once a day (that's from an all-time high of 1000 mg/day).

I go back and see him in 2 weeks. He said he thinks that I've been over-medicated for a while since losing the weight and he thinks I will be off this medication altogether which is SOOOOOO EXCITING FOR ME!!! YAY!

I almost cried when I left the office because this is why I am working so hard. I needed to improve my health so I am here for my children and this is one step closer to that goal!

This makes all those healthy choices so worth it. All those times, I didn't eat when I wanted to and all those times I exercised when I didn't want to are now SOOO worth it!

I'm so happy! :D
