I did it - exactly 100 lbs on WW!

This is what I posted on the 200+ board on weightwatchers.ca:

Today is the day! I finally made this WW milestone and it is so exciting. It is a celebration of all that I have accomplished to this point and a promise that I can meet my ultimate goal of being healthy and active and at a healthy weight.

When my son was born last February, I weighed 342 lbs and had chronic hypertension. I was feeling terrible, no energy, lethargic, unhappy and so uncomfortable in my own body. Turns out my cholesterol was also getting high.

I am an older mother (43 next month) of a 4.5 yrs old girl and 1.5 yrs old boy. Last September, I realized that if I didn't do something I wouldn't be around to see my son go to kindergarten never mind graduate high-school so I started to walk. I did it 3 mornings a week after I dropped my daughter off to pre-school and I walked in any weather.

Although I was feeling better, I wasn't losing weight because I wasn't eating healthy at all. So when a friend called to organize a birthday dinner, the only day we could do it was the day of her WW meeting. After trying to work out where to meet, I said I would meet her at WW because I was joining. And that was it!

I belong to a community meeting which doesn't meet all year. It was going to close for 9 weeks over Christmas so I started making plans for that right away. I signed up for eTools and decided to WI at my doctor's office. The meetings closed again over the summer but I keep going to WI with my doctor who is just so happy to have me come in.

I have cut my medications in half and my blood pressure readings are "excellent" according to my doctor. I have lost 100 lbs on WW and 126 since I had my son last February. Things have come up including a surgery this summer but I have been OP although it hasn't been easy. I have been active. I have gone from a size 26 to a 16 and I am absolutely thrilled with the changes in my life. I feel like me again!

These are the things that have been non-negotiable on this journey:
· I journal everything I eat
· I do my activity 3 x week minimum (usually 5-6 days now). I remember a huge rainstorm where I was ankle deep in water and still did my hour walk. I walked in the snow and we had lots last year and when I couldn't do it, I went to the gym or did my WATP dvds
· I WI every week no matter what at WW or when no meetings, at my doctor's office
· I come to the boards regularly and participate in the discussions seeking and offering support and encouragement
· I do not go over my allotted points - daily, weekly, and activity. No matter what! It hasn't always been pretty but I have done it.
· I keep my stats honestly and report both losses and gains.
· I work at eating healthy foods and have gone to organic as much as possible.

The changes I have made I can sustain for life because that is how long I will be doing this. I made a decision back in October that I would not give up on my goals and I will never go back! And I am sticking to that decision - day-by-day and choice-by-choice, I decide what goes in my mouth and how active I am. It is entirely within my control and in that there is freedom! My life is my own again. I am no longer trapped inside a body that gave me no joy! I am free and so grateful for a new chance to live the life I was meant to.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me along this journey - this includes my family and friends and all of you on these boards who have shared yourself and your journey.

I need to make a special-mention of Maddds and Seeyoulighter because they have journeyed with me practically since I started and I am so grateful for them. They are my biggest fans and cheer-leaders and I appreciate all their kindness and friendship!

I am so grateful to have you all to share this with.

Yes you did do it and in great fashion!!!

I can't express how happy I am that we made it!! I see so many people come and go on these boards and the one thing you have really taught me is that no matter what life throws at you, just keep on keeping on!!

You have faced so many challenges on this journey and always come out on top, you have never let that darn scale derail you, held on tight and fought your way through each challenge!! You have made me want to achieve your level of succes and that is not a number, its the way you have stayed OP, tried new things, exercised, posted, supported and cared about others, shared your frustrations, challenges and of course your victories. This is one huge victory that I am thrilled to have shared with you.

I want you to know that no matter where life will lead us, I will always remember YOU as my greatest inspiration and support during my weight loss journey!

Enjoy your milestone, you have so earned it - let it all sink in on what an accomplishment it really is!!

Tomorrow we focus on our next goal - ONEDERLAND!!!
