My new goal!

Last Monday, July 9th I started running using the www.coolrunning.com Couch to 5K program. I am just so excited that tonight I finished Week #1 of the program and it felt great! We got a new treadmill and I used it after the kids were in bed. Such a good run and I walked an extra 5 minutes briskly and then did a 5 minute cooldown. I felt like I could have kept going which was a great feeling. Last week, I went with my friend Nellie and we did the first run on a soccer field right near my house. That was a tough run but I did it with only one section where I had to walk because my breathing was all over the place. After that, it was difficult but I did it. I am loving this. I have set as a personal goal to run a 5K race next year in our community half-marathon! I am really excited about that and I feel great about having a fitness/activity goal to work towards instead of focusing on the scale which has been stuck on the weight 227 for the last 3 WI's. I saw some downward motion today but we'll see what it looks like in the morning. Tuesday is WI day. I look forward to see where my weight will be. In the meantime, I am loving this new level of activity!
